Honest Kitchen dog food is manufactured by The Honest Kitchen, which traces its roots back to the year 2000. However, it wasn’t until 2002 that the company was properly incorporated and officially founded. By 2009, Honest Kitchen was exceeding over 100,000 lbs in production, and has been featured on the Food Network show, “Will Work for Food”.

Honest Kitchen’s dog food formulas are slightly unique, since they are designed to have relatively few ingredients. Five out of the six formulas have protein included, while one formula is designed to supplement a meat source.

Customer reviews of Honest Kitchen’s dog food formulas are very positive. Dog owners stated that they were willing to pay the extra price to have a food made with high-quality, simple ingredients. The fact that each formula only has a few “wholesome” ingredients was a positive factor for many dog owners. Most dogs seem to have no problem finding the formulas appetizing, with only a small minority of dog owners stating that their dogs did not like the taste. The main complaint among many dog owners was the price of the food, being slightly above even some other ultra-premium dog food formulas.
