Maxximum Nutrition brand dog food formulas are manufactured by Doane Pet Care, and sold by popular retail giant Wal-Mart. Wal-Mart carries many different types of dog food formulas. Doane Pet Care specializes in making “store brand” pet food formulas, as well as a few national brands that are sold to consumer pet food companies. Doane Pet Care also has several brands that it sells itself. Currently, Doane Pet Care produces over 200 different brands of pet food. The headquarters of Doane Pet Care are currently located in Brentwood, Tennessee. In the year 2006, Doane Pet Care was purchased by Mars, Inc. Mars is a huge manufacturing company that has products worldwide. In 2008, Mars posted more than $21 billion dollars in sales.

Maxximum Nutrition brand dog food formulas are only available at Wal-Mart stores. The formulas may contain corn or corn products, since the ingredients list seems to be different from different sources. From what many dog owners say, Maxximum Nutrition brand dog food formulas are slightly hard to find.
MAXXIMUM NUTRITION DOG FOOD FORMULAS
- Maxximum Nutrition Adult Dog Dry Kibble Formula is suitable for all adult dogs over one year of age. Maxximum Nutrition Adult Dog Dry Kibble is not currently on the FDA recall list. The first five ingredients of this formula (as stated by one source) are lamb, chicken meal, ground whole grain sorghum, brewers rice and ground barley. Other ingredients include chicken fat, dried beet pulp, carrots, natural flavor, ground flaxseed, peas, dried blueberry pomace, zinc sulfate and dried egg product.
- Maxximum Nutrition Puppy Dry Kibble Formula is suitable for all puppies that are less than one year of age. The first five ingredients of this formula are chicken, brewers rice, whole grain corn, corn gluten meal and poultry by-product meal. Other ingredients include animal digest, chicken cartilage, salt, malted barley flour, niacin, calcium carbonate, zinc sulfate, vitamin A supplement, garlic oil and folic acid. Maxximum Nutrition Puppy Dry Kibble is not currently on the FDA recall list.

Customer reviews of Maxximum Nutrition brand dog food formulas are mixed. Many dog owners state that it is very difficult to find the ingredients of the formulas online, and even then, different sites state different ingredient lists. The fact that corn, sorghum, animal digest and other undesirable ingredients are listed in some of the formulas is seen as a negative aspect by many dog owners. Some dogs seem to lose their hair in patchy clumps when fed Maxximum brand dog food formulas. Other dogs may develop digestive problems, such as vomiting, diarrhea, loose stools and upset stomach.
However, not all dogs have health problems when fed Maxximum Nutrition brand dog food formulas. Some dogs can be fed Maxximum dog food without any notable problems. Some dog owners even seem to think that Maxximum Nutrition is a “good” dog food. The formula is also relatively inexpensive, and is seen by some dog owners as being a low-quality “economy” brand.

I live in Boaz, AL. Our dogs grew up on Maxximum but now it is not being carried at our Wal-Mart. Is there anywhere else to purchase? Can it be ordered?

I am having the same problem. I cannot find this dog food anywhere, even on the internet.
There is dozens of sites about the food, but none of them will let you
buy the product.
Im very disapointed and so are my boys, (dogs) they do not like anything
else I have tried to replace it with.
