MERRICK DOG FOOD
Merrick brand dog food is produced and marketed by Merrick Pet Foods, Inc. Merrick Pet Foods was originally founded as a family company, who decided to try their hand and producing natural dog treats. It wasn't until 2002 that Merrick began to innovate new gourmet dog food formulas. In 2003, Merrick released their first line of premium dog food formulas. Unlike some other dog food manufacturing companies, all of Merrick's dog food formulas are manufactured in the United States. In addition to this, all of Merrick's ingredients in their bone and treat formulas are created from American USDA approved sources.

Merrick's dog food formulas do not contain any artificial colors, artificial flavors or chemical preservatives. For their dry dog food formulas, Merrick maintains that these formulas have a digestibility of from 79% to 83%. Though Merrick's dry dog food formulas do contain salt, Merrick states that this is only to satisfy minimum requirements for sodium and chloride. Merrick's dry dog food formulas are currently available in a 1 lb "Trial-size" bag, a 5 lb bag, a 15 lb bag and a large 30 lb bag.

- Merrick Campfire Trout Dog Food contains trout, oatmeal, barley, salmon meal and whole brown rice as its first five ingredients. The Guaranteed Analysis of this formula contains 25% protein and 15% fat.
- Merrick Cowboy Cookout Dog Food contains beef, oatmeal, barley, beef meal and whole brown rice as its first five ingredients. The Guaranteed Analysis of this formula contains 22% protein and 15% fat.
- Merrick Grammy's Pot Pie Dog Food contains organic chicken, oatmeal, barley, chicken meal and whole brown rice as its first five ingredients. The Guaranteed Analysis of this formula contains 23% protein and 16% fat.
- Merrick Puppy Plate Dog Food contains organic chicken, turkey meal, oatmeal, duck and chicken meal as its first five ingredients. The Guaranteed Analysis of this formula contains 28% protein and 14% fat.
- Merrick Senior Medley Dog Food contains organic chicken, oatmeal, whole barley, chicken meal and oat fiber as its first five ingredients. The Guaranteed Analysis of this formula contains 20% protein and 9% fat.

MERRICK CONSUMER RATINGS
Most customer ratings about Merrick dog food are fairly positive. The food formulas do not seem to cause allergic reactions in dogs, and are easily digestible. In addition to this, switching some dogs to Merrick brand dog food seemed to help with certain food-based allergies. The few negative reviews about Merrick pet food either cited that the vegetables in the canned formulas weren't "visible", or that the formulas seem to be too rich for dogs that have grown up on low-quality foods. For dogs with sensitive digestive systems, Merrick brand dog food may sometimes cause gas or loose stools.

I would add grooming spray, pet wipes and spare Id tags to the list as well as a book on tarnniig and your dogs specific breed. From experience, I have learned that it is also important to research different pet foods to determine which is the best one for them in terms of nutrients and quality of ingredients (I feed my dogs Nutro, you can look into it if you would like more info by clicking the link) . I buy Merrick dog food for both my shih ztus, only good dog food they will eat, they love all flavors of merrick dog food but there favorite is the grammy’s pot pie. Thank you merrick for having a dog food my dogs will eat.
I have switched my female German Shepherd to Merrick because where I was buying Canidae they stopped carrying it. Complete Petsmart is now Petco in Englewood Ohio. I am happy with it, the only thing is she seems to eat a lot more of it therefore not lasting as long and it’s expensive for a 30lb bag. She runs alot and is not overweight by any means. I will keep her on it. We have tried a bag of Grammy’s pot pie and Cowboy cook out.
